Many visitors to Palau arrive on Continental Airlines that offer daily flights from Guam - gateway to Micronesia. There are daily connections to Guam from Tokyo, the USA, and other metropolitan centres around the world. Continental Airlines provides flights twice a week from Manila, Philippines. In addition, there are scheduled chartered airline services: Asiana Airline from Incheon, South Korea, China Airline from Taipei, Taiwan-ROC, and Japan Airlines from Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka, to Palau. From the western seaboard of the United States, you can hop to Hawaii, skip to Guam, and then jump to Palau. For a scenic island route, you can do an island hop across Micronesia to Palau. Through Asia, there are two weekly charter services between Taipei, Taiwan and Palau, and additional flights are also available during peak seasons. From Europe, visitors can fly via the Emirates directly to Manila, Philippines and onwards with Continental Airlines to Palau - this is possible without an overnight stay in Manila.

Transportation

Airport
The Palau International Airport (ROR) is Palau's only international airport. Located in the Airai State which is about a thirty minute drive to Koror State, former capitol of the Republic of Palau. A gateway to the scenic Rock Islands, Koror State is where most accommodations, tour operators, and business establishments are located.

Shuttle
Most of the hotels and resorts in Palau provide airport pick up, but please request this service when you make your reservation with the hotel of your choice, before you arrive in Palau.

Car Rentals
Car rentals are available upon arrival at Palau International Airport or at their various offices in downtown Koror. The prices vary depending on the size of the car and model. Most vehicles in Palau are left-handed drive Japanese standard and only some are US standard. Equip yourself with a rental and Palau map and take yourself on a relaxing scenic drive to the big island of Babeldaob.

Taxi
Taxis are available upon request - just a buzz by calling the service station number. Taxis are equipped with a rate sheet for each destination. Please be sure to ask for the rate sheet before using the service. It is possible to make transportation arrangements directly with the taxi driver should you wish to retain their services during the duration of your stay.
